June
19th, 2008 - I
scouted our entire 3.7 miles of blue-blaze and Appalachian
Trail, all the way to the top of Pond Mountain, and I cut weeds
along the way with the swing blade. I spent some extra
time cutting under the powerline cuts and on the railroad grade
of the A.T. I also removed one small blowdown. I
left the house at 4:30 and returned at 9:30, logging right at 5
maintenance hours. I felt like I left the trail in good
shape. Laurel
Fork gorge is covered with white Rosebay Rhododendrons right
now, and I took a couple of photos seen below: |
