12th, 2008 - Cam
and I took a trip to my Alma Mater to see the Hokies play
Maryland. It was his first trip to Blacksburg, and he
enjoyed it a lot.
We
left the house a few hours early so I'd have some time to show
Cam around Campus. When we arrived we first went to the
new memorial built for the victims of last year's shooting
tragedy. We also visited Norris Hall... the location of the
shootings. It was an emotional experience for Cam and I
both. We then walked all around campus and visited some of
my old classrooms and buildings. We also went to the
library where we got on a computer and sent Shannon an email,
and then to bookstore to buy some things to help cheer on the Hokies. After that we drove by my old apartment so Cam
could see where I lived while I was a student.
The
game was fantastic, but I forgot to take in my camera. Cam
enjoyed his first ACC basketball game very much, and we were
treated to a Hokie comeback...beating Maryland in the last
seconds, 67 to 66. |
